I am confused as to the series for ln(1+x)

in my notes I have sum x^n/n but I am pretty sure this is wrong as some one from class corrected a post made earlier.

Can you please clarify what the series is for ln(1+x)?

ln(1+x) = (sigma 1 to infinity) [(-1)^(n+1)*x^n]/n which converges for (-1,1]

If you want to try it yourself, do the integral of 1/(1+x).
